After the E90 sat for a few weeks after redoing the leaking valve cover, did a test ride to operating temp. Good news- no fresh oil outside the motor.
Bad news-
Fresh rodent nest behind the foglight , and wire harness to TPMS chewed up and sitting in the nest.
Can we all agree that soy-based wire insulation is a stupid idea?

Wow. I was annoyed that a mouse took up residence in my Jeep even as I semi- regularly drove it this summer, but all it did was shit all over the place.
I felt badly but a trap took care of that problem.

You might try some rodent-deterrent tape. It’s infused with capsaicin.

that’s a given in a garage.

we read about that stuff after my GF had her knock sensor harness replaced for the second time in 2 years from rodent damage. the top of the motor, under the intake of a Tundra seems to be a great nesting spot.

it didn’t used to be that bad at my house when i had cats that went outside, but then one of the cats found the wrong spot in the food chain, so the remaining kitty doesn’t go out.

The base of the wrap doesn’t matter.
I lost my knock sensor harness to a rodent nest. The entire thing was wrapped in anti-rodent wrap. He took it all and made a home out of it.
The only deterre nt that works is frequent driving.

My mom keeps her car parked with the hood up after a rat took half of the under hood insulation. Seems to work.

I had rabbits eat my under hood light wiring which shorted out all the interior lighting and the radio in my truck. Fixed that, removed the nes t from the fender, a week later my cruise control st opped working and my hvac wouldnt change modes. Ba stards ate the cruise control wiring harness and the hard hvac vaccum line to the intake. Let's just say I was ready to go wabbit hunting.

Sorry to hear that, honda makes a very effective tape to prevent this problem. Its pricey, but a little bit goes a long way. Check it out at this link: https://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/4019-2317.html

In recent years, I have had no less than 5 mice die after making contact with the fan bla des w hen I start my truck. This year the chipmunks have been going in and out of the engine compartment, which has caused me to keep the hood open. Yesterda y one of them damn rat bastards was in the garage, and hid under the mower deck. I flushed him out with the leaf blower.
